This special week in the UNESCO Italian Dolomites is a trail runner and foodie's dream.
For the first half of the week, you will enjoy 3 days of trail running (8-12 miles per day) led by professional trail runner, coach, and founder of Trail Running Factory, Gediminas Grinius. Plus, you will explore Cortina, take the Gondola to the top of Cristallo Mountain, enjoy an aperitivo atop Rifugio Scoiattolo, and more. Chef Fabio will be your private chef for the week preparing incredible meals or selecting a restaurant to savor authentic, local cuisine. For the last half of the week, you will take part in a fantastic 3-day festival, Delicious Festival Dolomiti, and 1-day race, Delicious Trail Dolomiti. This is the first trail "race" to combine sport, history, and gourmet Italian cuisine in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The scenery is absolutely spectacular. The roughly 38 km trail winds around Pocol, Croda Da Lago, 5 Torri, Nuvolau, Lagazuoi and the Falzarego Pass. What makes the Delicious Trail unique, however, is its emphasis on food! At the refreshment stands and the final party, runners will be able to sample special dishes prepared by 25 of the best chefs from local restaurants and refuges. The dishes offered will be designed so as to have the same nutritional value as energy bars but will be tasty and tempting, and easily digestible for the athletes. Cuisine
The food is a key ingredient of this adventure. Chef Fabio will provide a mix of hand-picked restaurants and his own cooking throughout the week. All meals will feature locally-sourced fruits, vegetables, legumes, beef, and seafood bright with flavor. In addition to incredible food, you’ll drink wine that represents the history and personality of the region.
To respect and reflect Italian culture, meals will be served at the appropriate times of day.
